Glycerol-Free Enzyme Development
Glycerol is commonly used to stabilize enzymes during their storage to prevent damage; however, it can interfere with lyophilization. Glycerol-free formulations are used to ensure compatibility with lyophilization or air-drying while preserving the performance and stability of the enzyme activity to facilitate storage and transport conditions, allowing more flexibility during development and cost saving during commercialization.
